How should I give?
For in-person giving, please prepare all your giving as a cash or check offering. When you enter the sanctuary there will be a small table to your left presenting an offering basket and offering envelopes. Please put your offering into an envelope and fill out the front with your name, date, and amount given. Then please prayerfully put your offering in the basket. You can find a link for online giving below. Thank you for your faithfulness and joyful giving. May God bless you abundantly.
The Theology of Giving
If this is your first time giving, or would like to know more about the power of offering, please take time to read our theology of giving. For any further questions please contact us on our instagram or email. May God bless you in your giving!
The Heart
Christian giving is a matter of the heart. 1 Chronicles 29:9 tells us that giving with a whole heart leads to rejoicing. Regardless of the amount, we ask our members to first examine their hearts and give with the right attitude of purpose and joy.
The Discipline
One of the greatest temptations of the world is greed that is often manifested in money. The core discipline that all Christians must learn is to depend on Christ and relinquish greed. Faithful giving provides the necessary discipline to extinguish greed and remind us deeply of our dependence on Christ.
The Stewardship
God has commanded us to be good stewards of His creation and all that He has given us. A good steward or servant sets the house according to his or her master's plans and preferences. Only when we see God in our marriage can we say we are good stewards of our marriage, and only when we see God in our homes can we say we are good stewards of our families. The same is with our finances; only when we see God in our finances can we be good stewards of all the monetary allowance He has given us.
The Freedom
Faithful giving provides a powerful avenue of joy and freedom in our lives. It inherently affirms the truth that our wealth comes from knowing Christ and His immeasurable grace that has saved us, and overcomes the temptation of serving money.
The Purpose
Christian giving provides necessary funds to further the kingdom of God and reach the lost. All giving goes to empowering the body of Christ to grow in faith, community, and mission. Just like God took the small offering of bread and fish to feed over 5000 souls, we believe that your giving makes room for God's compounding blessings to spread the gospel to the ends of the world.
The Amount
In Genesis 28:22, upon God's promise of blessing and provision, Jacob commits to return a tenth of all that he is given to God. A good measure would be to give 10% of any sort of weekly/monthly income. For students who receive allowance, we encourage you to build the discipline of giving a tenth instead of receiving an extra fund from your parents for offering on Sunday.
